Rebecca McGlohn, MAT, BCBA, LBA
President

Rebecca founded Autism Consulting and Therapy in April of 2008. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). She graduated from Vanderbilt University with dual Bachelors degrees in Psychology and Child Development, and then went on to receive a Master of Arts in Teaching Special Education from the University of Memphis. She taught Special Education for 6 years before opening ACT. Rebecca has over 15 years experience with children with Autism and other developmental disabilities in home, school, and clinical settings.

Christine Hettling, MS, BCBA, LBA
Vice President of Clinical Operations

Christine is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). She has a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Salisbury University and a Master of Science in Psychology from the University of Phoenix. She taught 5th grade in an inclusion classroom for 3 years before working as a Behavior Analyst. Since 2007, Christine has provided in-home ABA therapy to children with Autism and other developmental disabilities. In addition to working in the home setting, she also has experience providing ABA consultation to teachers and other public school staff in Special Education and General Education classrooms.

Melissa Hale, BS, BCaBA, LABA
Master Therapist

Melissa started at ACT in March of 2015. She has a Bachelor of Science in Child and Adolescent Studies from California State University, Fullerton and is working on her Master’s degree in Professional Behavior Analysis from Florida Institute of Technology. She is currently working towards becoming a BCBA. Melissa has 4 years experience working in the field of ABA. She spends her spare time outdoors with husband and two dogs enjoying boating, hiking, surfing and snowboarding.

Joey Legg, BA, BCaBA, LABA
Master Therapist

Joey started at ACT in May of 2013. He has a Bachelor of Arts in United States History from The University of Virginia. He is currently working towards becoming a BCBA at Florida Institute of Technology. Joey has been working with children since 2006, and with children with disabilities since 2010. Prior to coming to ACT, Joey worked as a residential counselor at the Wilderness Outdoor Opportunity Discovery School and was a unit director with the Boys and Girls Club.

Jana Leshley, MSEd, RBT
Master Therapist

Jana started at ACT in April 2013. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Southern Indiana and a Master’s degree in Special Education through Concordia University-Portland. Jana has been working with children with disabilities since 2008. She was a special needs teachers in Marion, Indiana before taking the position with ACT. In her spare time, Jana enjoys binge watching Netflix and playing with her dog, Pedro.

Adam Friedlander, MA
Master Therapist

Adam started at ACT in June of 2014. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Experimental Psychology from the University of South Carolina and a Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Ball State University. He is currently working towards becoming a BCBA. Adam has been working in ABA since 2010, and also has one year of experience working with adolescents with various psychiatric disorders. Adam spends his free time taking road trips and going to concerts.

Jacqueline Shaw, MAT, RBT
Master Therapist

Jacqueline started at ACT in March of 2015. She has a Bachelors in Sociology from California State University of Northridge and a Masters in Teaching with specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis from National University. She is currently working towards becoming a BCBA. Jacqueline has worked with children on the autism spectrum since 2007. She enjoys spending her free time with her family, reading, and going to the beach.

Kelly Rose, MSEd
Master Therapist

Kelly Rose started at ACT in June of 2014. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Temple University and a Master’s degree in Special Education with an emphasis in Autism from Old Dominion University. She is currently working towards becoming a BCBA at Florida Institute of Technology. Prior to working for ACT, Kelly had 5 years of experience teaching in an alternative educational program for children with ASD. On her days off, Kelly enjoys hanging out with her family, playing soccer, and going to the beach.

Kristi Dunaway, BS
Master Therapist

Kristi joined ACT in January of 2014. She has a Bachelor’s of Science in Special Education: Multi-categorical K-12 and has completed her coursework for her BCaBA, which she plans to sit for in February of 2016. She is currently enrolled in a Masters program through Florida Institute of Technology for Professional Behavioral Analysis. Upon completion of the Masters program, Kristi will be eligible to sit for her BCBA. Before joining ACT, Kristi taught in Summerville, South Carolina in a self-contained Autism classroom. She has been in the field of ABA since December of 2007. In her downtime, Kristi likes to spend time with the things that mean the most to her in life: her family, her friends and her three dogs (Buck, Opie and Jo). Kristi loves playing games and enjoys friendly competition. Her hidden talents include: napping, mini golf, and Snapchatting.

Eudora Chua, MT, RBT
Behavior Technician

Eudora started at ACT in December 2014. She has a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Teaching from the University of Virginia. She graduated from UVA in 2012. She is currently working towards becoming a BCBA at Florida Institute of Technology. She began at the company as an EIBI Teacher and discovered her interest in ABA therapy during her time in the classroom. She has several years’ experience working with children prior to joining ACT. In her spare time, she enjoys running, making visits with her qualified Therapy Dog, and candle-making.

Caroline Crawford, BA, RBT
Behavior Technician

Caroline started at ACT in March of 2015. She has a Bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in Early Childhood Education, and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Special Education with an emphasis in Autism Spectrum Disorders. She has been working with children on the Autism Spectrum since 2014. Caroline enjoys traveling and spending time with her miniature dachshund named Tilly.

Patti McDermott-Loud, MS CCC-SLP
Director of Ancillary Services and Lead EIBI Teacher

Patti McDermott -Loud started at ACT in September of 2013. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education with a concentration in Communication Disorders and a Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from Old Dominion University. She has over 15 years of experience working with children with disabilities. Patti has previously taught in Norfolk Public Schools in a self-contained Communication Disorders classroom and provided individual as well as classroom-based speech therapy at Children’s Hospital of the Kings Daughters. She enjoys skiing, hiking and spending time with her family.

Elizabeth Yeager, BS
EIBI Teacher

Elizabeth is an EIBI Teacher. She began her employment at ACT in August 2015. She has a Bachelor of Science in Human Growth and Development with an emphasis on Early Childhood Development. She has many Continuing Education courses in Autism, verbal behavior training, and various courses and workshops in early intervention. She has taught preschool children with Autism and other special needs for 20 years. She recently relocated to the Virginia Beach area from Kennett Square, PA. In her free time she enjoys making jewelry, reading, going to church, and spending time with family and friends.

Diane Osbourne, BA
EIBI Assistant

Diane began her employment at ACT in August of 2014. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications with a Minor in English. Diane graduated from Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania. She has ten years’ experience working as a Teaching Assistant in the Chesapeake area. Her previous employer was Montessori Academy of Virginia. Diane likes to go boating with her husband and two sons and enjoys spending time on the beaches of the Outer Banks.

Korbin Thompson
EIBI Assistant

Korbin began her employment at ACT in July 2014. Korbin worked in the Norfolk Public School System for 8 years and also has worked in several private school facilities with children with autism and other special needs. Working with children from all walks of life she has always had a desire for education and continues to use that passion in her personal life. Korbin grew up in a military family and moved all around the country in her youth. In her free time she enjoys running, watching movies, reading and taking trips with her daughter to expose her to new cultures and experiences.


Administrative Staff


Trey McGlohn
Vice President of Business Operations

Trey joined ACT in 2010. He studied Photography and Printmaking and minored in Business Administration at Old Dominion University. He manages the administrative aspects of ACT, but would prefer to play with the kids all day. In his spare time, Trey enjoys fishing, playing competitive adult kickball, and cooking/eating.

Mei Yeh
Accountant

Mei joined ACT in August 2014. She is originally from Taiwan and speaks fluent Mandarin, Taiwanese, and English. She also took Japanese and Korean in college but can only remember a few phrases now. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Jacksonville University and Master’s degree in Business Administration from Saint Leo University in Florida. Mei has more than 15 years of experience working in the accounting/tax field but very little experience working with children (her son is nineteen years old). She is an IRS Registered Tax Return Preparer (RTRP) and currently studying to become a Certified Public Accountant. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and trying exotic/strange food.

Alena Isaeva
Office Manager

Alena started at ACT in September of 2014. She moved to the United States in the Summer of 2010 from Vladivostok, Russia. Alena has a Bachelor of Arts in German Language and Literature from Old Dominion University. She loves children and is capable of juggling many projects while the children and teachers sing “Days of the Week” in the room next-door. In her spare time Alena enjoys taking her puppy to the dog park, reading books, going to the gym, and traveling. She is also learning to play the piano.

Dakota Grizzle
Billing Auditor

Dakota started at ACT in September of 2014. He is working on his Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics with a Minor in Biology and Chemistry from Virginia Wesleyan College. He has taught children’s swim lessons for a few years and loves working with children. In his free time he enjoys swimming, lifeguarding, playing soccer, and doing Calculus.
